MARGARET HOFFMAN
JEFFERSON CO ASSESSOR
Appointed to office through a party caucus in 2004, elected in 2006 Margaret embraces the opportunity to serve the Taxpayers of Jefferson County.
Level II, Certified Assessor/Appraiser, since July 2001, currently a Candidate for Level III Certification by the State of Indiana. She has successfully completed the Indiana Certified Course for Certified Licensed Appraisers, a 90-hour curriculum offered by IVY Tech State College, The Fundamentals of Real Property Appraisal Course, The Fundamentals of Mass Appraisal Course, and The Income Approach to Valuation Course, National USPAP course. She has also availed herself of well over 700 hours of job related continuing education classes.
Member of ICAA Indiana County Assessors Association, A member of AIC Association of Indiana Counties, and IAAO International Association of Assessing Officers, Past President of the Southeast District Indiana County Assessors, currently serves on the Democrat Central Committee as Vice President and is a board Member of the Jefferson County United Way.
Prior to her service as the Assessor, Hoffman worked as the chief deputy assessor, a real estate title searcher and a bank loan clerk. She attended Indiana Vocational Technical College and graduated from Shawe Memorial High School. Having emigrated Poland as a child, Margaret takes great pride in the freedoms and opportunities that our great country offers
